Senior Leader in Charge of Provision job summary
We are seeking an inspirational and committed professional to provide strategic and operational leadership of our Integrated Resource Provision. This is a key role within the Academy, focused on ensuring pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) receive a high quality, ambitious and inclusive education that enables them to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
The postholder will provide strategic and operational leadership of the Inclusion Resource Provision (IRP), ensuring seamless transition and integration of pupils between the IRP and the main school. You will play a central role in securing a high‑quality, ambitious and inclusive education for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Working collaboratively with colleagues, you will also contribute to the oversight of SEN and curriculum development across the whole academy, ensuring the IRP remains a cohesive, integral part of the wider community. As a full and proactive member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will promote the Academy’s vision, contribute to all aspects of academy improvement and lead priority areas within the Academy Development Plan, evaluating impact and demonstrating strong strategic leadership.
We are looking for someone who can:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership of the IRP, including pupil placement, transition and reintegration between IRP and main school.
- Work closely with WISENDSS, Educational Psychologists and the Local Authority SEN team to secure continuous improvement, strong pupil outcomes and effective use of specialist provision.
- Lead, implement and evaluate whole‑school initiatives, monitoring impact and driving improvement across identified priority areas.
- Act as a passionate advocate for inclusion and change, identifying barriers to learning and working creatively and strategically to overcome them.
- Be a proactive and knowledgeable member of the safeguarding team, demonstrating a strong understanding of statutory legislation, systems and procedures to ensure pupil safety and staff confidence.
- Deliver and model high‑quality teaching, and quality‑assure the work of support staff and interventions.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to pupils, staff, families and partner agencies to secure positive academic, social and emotional outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
You will:
- Be an experienced and inspirational leader with a strong track record in SEND and inclusive practice.
- Bring strategic insight, resilience and a solution focused approach to school improvement.
- Have credibility as an excellent teacher and leader of staff.
- Demonstrate strong partnership working with families and external agencies.

- Be a qualified SENCO or be willing to work towards
