Senior Midday Assistant job summary
Are you organised, caring, and enthusiastic about supporting children’s well-being? St Helen’s Nursery and Primary School is looking for a Senior Midday Supervisor Assistant to lead our lunchtimes and help create a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for our pupils.

About the RoleAs Senior Midday Supervisor Assistant, you will play a key leadership role during the midday break, ensuring smooth meal services and safe play.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Team Leadership: Leading, organising, and supervising our team of Midday Supervisors, as well as assisting with school-based training.
Mealtime Management: Liaising with the Cook Supervisor for a smooth meal service, ensuring an orderly dining space, and keeping dining areas clean, tidy, and hygienic.
Pupil Welfare & Behaviour: Managing pupil behaviour, handling minor accidents or illnesses according to school procedures, and engaging children in safe play both indoors and outdoors.
Administrative Support: Assisting with registers, ensuing staff are aware of allergen pupils and pupils with additional needs and how to support them and reporting persistent behaviour issues or incidents to senior leadership.
Safeguarding: Actively promoting and safeguarding the welfare of all pupils, attending required safeguarding training, and reporting any concerns promptly.
We are looking for someone who:
Demonstrates strong leadership and organisational skills to guide a dedicated midday team.
Enjoys working with children and can build positive, respectful relationships in our multicultural school community.
Is calm under pressure, solution-focused, and proactive in managing child safety and behaviour.
Is a supportive team leader who leads from example and will hold staff accountable if needed.
Shares our belief in the Complete Human Strategy, supporting pupils' emotional and physical well-being through safe, structured, and joyful lunchtimes.
