Join Our Warm and Welcoming School Community

Are you passionate about supporting children’s well-being and safety during their school day? Do you enjoy working as part of a team and making a positive impact in a close-knit environment? Hempnall Primary School is looking for a committed and enthusiastic Senior Midday Supervisory Assistant to lead and inspire our team of Midday Supervisory Assistants (MSAs).

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a school where every pupil is valued, supported, and encouraged to grow.

About Hempnall Primary School

Nestled in the heart of our village community, Hempnall is a small, mixed-age primary school federated with Brooke VC Primary School. We pride ourselves on being a warm and inclusive school, where children, staff, and families learn, achieve, and grow together.

Our pupils come from diverse backgrounds, including those with special educational needs and pupil premium support, and we are committed to ensuring every child thrives in a safe, nurturing environment.

Our school improvement priorities focus on developing inclusive teaching practises, refining assessment, promoting positive behaviour as a vital part of school life. We are a community that values collaboration and continuous growth.

About the Role

As Senior Midday Supervisory Assistant, you will play a key role in the daily life of our school by:

  • Leading and supporting our MSA team, ensuring smooth supervision and coverage across the school during lunch and playtimes
  • Maintaining a safe, calm, and positive atmosphere for pupils, encouraging good behaviour and healthy habits
  • Providing first aid and managing minor injuries with care and professionalism
  • Helping to induct new MSAs, sharing your knowledge of school procedures and safeguarding practises
  • Supervising pupils both in the dining area and around the school, including safe movement between sites

You will work closely with duty teachers and the leadership team to uphold our high standards of safety, behaviour, and wellbeing.

About You

You will be someone who naturally connects with children, showing empathy, patience, and a confident presence. You understand the importance of maintaining order with kindness and tact, and you communicate effectively with pupils and colleagues alike.

Experience as an MSA or in a similar role is essential, along with a good understanding of school policies, safeguarding, and child protection. Ideally, you will be trained in first aid or willing to undertake this training.

Your leadership will help foster a supportive, collaborative team environment where every child feels safe and valued.

What We Offer

  • The chance to be a crucial part of a small but dynamic school community where your contribution truly matters
  • Opportunities for professional development and training to enhance your skills, particularly in safeguarding and first aid
  • A supportive and friendly working environment rooted in shared values and a commitment to inclusion
  • The satisfaction of helping children enjoy their school day in a safe and positive setting
