Senior Network Technician

Pay Scale: H6 (SCP 14 - 19 (£30,515 - £33,119)

Hours: 8.00am until 4.00pm (37 hours per week)

Weeks: 52 Weeks per year

Ridgeway Academy is part of the Ambition Education Trust (AET). The Ambition Education Trust (AET) consists of ten schools in Hertfordshire; three primary, one nursery and infants’, one juniors and five secondary. A Senior IT Technician is required to join the ICT team at Ridgeway Academy, working full time (52 weeks) to provide 1st and 2nd line IT support to staff and students and support the reliable, secure and effective operation of IT services across the school. The role will include supporting and maintaining devices, user accounts, printing, network infrastructure, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 and other Trust IT systems.

Whilst the position is based at Ridgeway Academy, you will work closely with a team of highly skilled ICT Technicians and Managers across the Trust and will support wider Trust IT projects and services as required.

Essential skills and experience include an understanding of:

Windows 11 and Windows Server environments
Google Workspace for Education and Chromebook/ChromeOS administration
Microsoft 365, Active Directory and Group Policy
SCCM/Endpoint Configuration Manager and/or Intune
Managed network infrastructure, including switches, wireless, VLANs and TCP/IP
Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of hardware and software
Printing, classroom technology and associated IT services
Cyber security principles, including MFA, endpoint protection, patching and access control
IT support/helpdesk processes and effective fault diagnosis
Safeguarding responsibilities relating to school IT systems, including filtering and monitoring

Experience of virtualisation, school MIS systems and technologies such as PaperCut, Paxton, CCTV, 3CX, filtering/monitoring platforms and managed network systems would also be advantageous.
