About us and the role
We are recruiting a Senior Premises Officer to lead the operational management of school facilities at Avanti Grange.
The post holder will take responsibility for site maintenance, cleaning services, security and health and safety compliance, ensuring the school environment is safe, well maintained and welcoming.
Working closely with senior leaders, the role also supports ongoing improvement and capital projects across the school.
This position is well suited to someone with facilities management experience who values responsibility, teamwork and contributing positively to a school community.

What will you do?
- Oversee the day-to-day operation, maintenance and security of the school site, ensuring facilities are safe, clean and compliant with health and safety requirements.
- Line manage caretaking and cleaning staff and contractors, including training, supervision, quality assurance and support with lettings.
- Plan and deliver effective maintenance schedules, minor works and improvements, supporting capital projects in collaboration with the Area Site Manager.
- Manage facilities-related resources, including ordering consumables, supporting budget control and ensuring value for money.
- Work closely with the Executive Principal and Business Support Manager to meet the operational needs of the school.
What are we looking for?
- Good communication skills; written and verbal.
- Experience managing a team, including cleaners and caretakers.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and other relevant legislation.
- Understanding of Health and Safety and security issues.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Good organisational skills- ability to meet deadlines and make decisions in emergencies.
