Rickmansworth School is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and dedicated Senior Science Technician (Chemistry) to join our vibrant and forward-thinking Science Department.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality Chemistry teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 to 5 and managing the practical provision in all three science disciplines. You will lead the preparation and maintenance of equipment and materials for practical lessons, ensure that all experiments are carried out safely, and provide technical expertise to both staff and students. You will manage the biology and physics technician and work with the Head of Science.
About the Science Department:
The department consists of twelve experienced members, fostering a strong and collaborative team atmosphere. We work closely together to support and enhance each other's practice while sharing expertise. The department is supported by three technicians who work alongside teaching staff to ensure a stimulating practical curriculum which inspires our students. A key part of our department vision is to increase engagement in science through regular and engaging practical work. We offer a variety of extracurricular opportunities, including a Key Stage 3 Science Club, STEM initiatives, and subject-specific Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 study clubs.
Separate Science is a particularly popular option at GCSE, with seven Key Stage 4 classes. Within the Sixth Form approximately 150 students study science subjects at A-Level.

Selection Process:
