What skills and experience we're looking for

Leadership & Experience in a School Setting

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.

  • Significant teaching experience within a special education setting.
  • Proven experience in curriculum development, assessment, and reporting.
  • Experience in using data to track student progress and inform teaching strategies.
  • Leadership or middle management experience within a school setting.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of curriculum frameworks and assessment methodologies in special education.
  • Knowledge of best practices in differentiation and inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Ability to analyse data and use it to improve student outcomes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and liaising with stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Oak Grove College is a community generic special school providing special education for 281 students with learning difficulties from Year 7 to Year 14. We are part of the Thrive Federation of Schools which also includes Palatine Primary School, Herons Dale School and Cornfield School.

We are looking for an exceptional teacher with recent, substantial middle leadership experience who is ready to grow and develop into a Senior Leader.

You will play a key role in leading and developing the curriculum to ensure it meets the diverse needs of all students. You will be responsible for overseeing assessment strategies, tracking student progress and ensuring effective reporting to parents, carers and relevant stakeholders.

Collaborating with the staff team, you will support high quality teaching and learning, ensuring that curriculum delivery aligns with individual student needs.
