Senior Teaching Assistant job summary

  • Hours of work: 32
  • Working pattern: Monday to Friday
  • Term weeks: 38 + 2 weeks school closure, minimum paid week 45.797

As a Senior Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide high‑quality support to students in lessons, small groups and on a one‑to‑one basis
  • Assist in planning, delivering and adapting learning activities in collaboration with teaching staff
  • Support the progress of pupils with a range of needs, ensuring an inclusive learning environment
  • Lead and mentor other support staff where appropriate
  • Contribute to the monitoring, assessment and recording of pupil progress
  • Play an active role in creating a positive, safe and engaging school environment

  • Has experience working with young people in an educational or similar setting
  • Demonstrates strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Is committed to supporting the progress and wellbeing of all students
  • Works well as part of a team and shows initiative
  • Is flexible, patient and resilient
  • Holds (or is willing to work toward) relevant TA qualifications
