What skills and experience we're looking for

Plumpton College is seeking a qualified and experienced legal professional—such as a solicitor, barrister, or property law specialist—with expertise in rural property law, to join our teaching team. This sessional role involves delivering a module focused on the legal frameworks that underpin rural land ownership, occupation, and use.

Plumpton College offers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in horticulture, agriculture, viticulture, animal conservation, veterinary studies, and rural and countryside management. The University of Greenwich validates all our higher education courses, and our BSc (Hons) Rural Land and Business Management programme is in the process of gaining RICS accreditation.

This is a unique opportunity to bring your industry expertise into an academic setting while maintaining flexibility. You will play a vital role in delivering a professionally oriented programme designed to equip students with the legal knowledge essential for careers in rural land and business management.

The programme is delivered in an accelerated format over two years, with students attending college for intensive week-long blocks once per month. For this module, Rural Property Law, which is scheduled for delivery between October and December, we require on-campus delivery for two block weeks, with the remainder of the teaching, assessment, and student support conducted remotely over the months of October to mid-December.
