Site Maintenance Operative job summary

This is an opportunity to be at the heart of our school community, ensuring a safe, secure, and inspiring environment for our pupils, staff, and visitors. You'll be instrumental in maintaining our premises to the highest standards, playing a vital role in the day-to-day operations and long-term upkeep of our fantastic school.

As our Site Maintenance Operative, you'll be a true all-rounder, with responsibilities including:

  • Site Management: From managing waste and coordinating deliveries to liaising with contractors and maintaining specialist equipment, you'll ensure our facilities are always in good condition. Regular site inspections and prompt identification of defects will be part of your routine.

  • Hands-On Maintenance: You'll be responsible for minor repairs and improvement work. You'll also be key in the operation and maintenance of our buildings systems.

  • Resource & Organisation: You'll contribute to developing our processes and procedures, maintain important records, and help create a productive working environment.

  • Security & Safety: You will be part of a team that has responsibility for the security and safety of the school buildings. This includes fire safety checks and responding to alarms as well as H&S compliance checks.

Team Collaboration: You'll be a valued member of our Premises team and part of the wider staff body contributing to the overall ethos of the school and promoting health and safety at all times.

Hours: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per annum (term-time + 1 week + paid holiday entitlement of 5.64 weeks per annum).
