36 hours per week (0600 - 1400 Monday to Friday
Split Shift or different hours could be considered for the right candidate
52 weeks per year
Scale OUTL6, points 18-20 (£34,416 - £35,448)
(Regular Letting Opportunities available across the Trust, out of school hours, during weekends etc.)

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, professional and highly motivated Site Manager to provide outstanding safe and secure facilities to the students, staff, parents and carers at Hatchside School in Newbury Park and Goodmayes, which is a Special Needs school over 2 sites (Infants & Juniors) Hatchside Juniors has recently reached its designated full capacity of 64 children, and Hatchside Infants has recently opened in January 2025 and has potential for further growth over the next few years. The role is an integral part of the School, keeping the grounds clean, safe and secure. Experience and knowledge of school site management, and a passion for protecting and improving the development of the school is essential.
We are looking for candidates with a warm demeanour, exceptional communication skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to use initiative in a fast-paced environment.
You must have the following;
Manual Driving Licence
Midas training & minibus management or willingness to train
Pool Plant Operators Certificate or willingness to train
Duties will include:
Manage Specialist Premises Function - Oversee specialised areas within the school premises.
Risk Assessment - Evaluate security risks, including vandalism and arson, and implement preventive measures
Security Checks - Carrying out security procedures for school buildings and grounds, including opening and closing of the premises.
Fire Safety Management - Manage fire safety equipment and schedule fire drills.
Maintenance and Security Management - Carry out and oversee maintenance (including cleaning & repair work), security, and facilities systems. Timely and accurate preparation and use of specialist equipment/resources/materials
Health & Safety - Regular monitoring in relation to the daily health and safety checks around school premises. Promote and ensure the health and safety of pupils, staff & visitors at all times
Alarm and Surveillance Systems - Oversee the provision of alarm systems, CCTV, and other surveillance equipment.
Contractor Oversight - Supervise external contractors and contribute to planning, developing and monitoring planned and preventative maintenance schedules.
Reporting - Manage records, information and data, producing analysis and reports
Work allocation & Monitoring - Supervision of a small team of cleaners.

Hatchside School opened in April 2021 as a new 64 place special school, in response to the growing numbers of pupils requiring specialist placements. It’s curriculum and practice are founded on the principles of early intervention and assessment, particularly as pupils are currently aged 2-7 (EYFS/KS1). We admit pupils who have severe and profound learning difficulties with a range of special educational needs including; Sensory impairments/Autistic spectrum disorders/associated behaviours/physical and medical needs. The school serves a multi ethnic population, which reflects the diversity of the borough and East London.
