What skills and experience we're looking for
Are you a skilled tradesperson looking for a permanent role in a consistent location?
Due to the retirement of our experienced Site Manager, we are looking for a new member of staff who will play a vital role in ensuring our school is a safe place for pupils to learn and staff to work.
School Site
Stakesby Primary Academy is an averaged sized primary school, our site has one main school building and a separate nursery building, which is also home to a private nursery. Across our entire site we have 12 classrooms, 11 toilet areas, 5 cloak rooms, 3 office spaces, 2 staff rooms, ICT suite, library, main reception, the main hall and kitchen, plus a smaller kitchen in the nursery building. Our outside space includes three playgrounds and a car park. We also have a small, wooded area used for our forest school learning, and a field (grass and hedges maintained by local council).
About You
we are looking to recruit a self-motivated, reliable, multi-skilled, proactive and organised Site Manager to fulfil this key role associated with the smooth running of the Academy.
The fundamental part of the role will be premises management of the academy buildings and grounds. This entails the maintenance and security of the building and grounds, ensuring the cleanliness of the site as a welcoming, safe and secure environment for pupils, staff and visitors, and taking responsibility for ensuring full compliance with current health and safety legislation.
You must also be willing to undertake routine maintenance, including painting and decorating, DIY and general repairs. There will be some later working on Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays for after-school clubs; for Academy Improvement Committee meetings, special events and parents' evenings in which flexibility is essential. The Site Manager is expected to attend to emergencies outside of academy hours, therefore a full driving licence is essential if you do not live within walking distance of school.
You will be responsible for all record keeping in respect of maintenance and health & safety and must therefore possess strong ICT, literacy and numeracy skills. Training on how to use the required systems will be provided.
