Site Manager job summary
Are you a proactive, hands-on individual with a passion for maintaining a safe and welcoming environment?
Our vibrant school community is looking for a dedicated Site Manager to join our team. We are committed to providing an exceptional education to all our pupils. We need a dedicated Site Manager who can help to ensure a clean and safe learning environment for our pupils and staff.
Reporting to the Academy Operations Manager, Head of School and Executive Principal, you will:
Ensure the security of the school site, including being on call for emergencies.
Carry out maintenance and repairs, including basic plumbing, minor works and decorating
Supervise and support cleaners and assistant site staff.
Act as the main point of contact for contractors and lettings outside of school hours.
Oversee health and safety compliance, including fire safety and site risk assessments.
Take responsibility for energy efficiency and recycling initiatives within the school.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
Experienced in site maintenance, ideally within a school or similar setting.
Able to carry out statutory checks and complete relevant paperwork ensuring compliance.
Able and willing to identify and complete repairs, general maintenance (including painting).
Reliable, hardworking, self-reliant, flexible, and highly motivated.
Skilled in basic general maintenance.
Organised and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Able to confidently take responsibility for the site in the absence of senior staff.
Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual tasks such as lifting and using ladders.
Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
A willingness to undertake relevant training (such as Health & Safety, COSHH, or Legionella awareness) is desirable.
