Glade Academy has an exciting opportunity for a Site Officer to join our established team. The successful candidate will be joining a vibrant and ambitious organisation, led by experienced and supportive professionals.
The Site Officer role is responsible for the day-to-day upkeep, maintenance, and provision of semi-skilled trade services or activities for school buildings, facilities, and grounds to meet safety and quality standards. Work activities and tasks are both reactive (in response to immediate or unplanned faults) and planned (tasked by the Operations Manager to achieve the estates management and compliance plans) to ensure the work and educational environment, safety, security, and standards are maintained to a high standard in accordance with the school premises operating practices. This role requires the post holder to demonstrate flexibility, as emergency callouts outside of regular working hours may be necessary.
We are seeking a practical and enthusiastic individual who can handle a variety of tasks. This physically demanding role involves moving furniture, general DIY, and maintenance. Basic skills in maintenance and a general understanding of health and safety procedures are required, or a willingness to learn. Computer skills are necessary for uploading health and safety data and liaising with suppliers.
Skills and Experience:
Previous work within semi-skilled trades or maintenance roles.
Ability to use tools, plant, equipment, and materials safely and successfully.
Ability to undertake general routine repairs and maintenance tasks.
Good organizational skills to complete allocated work tasks.
A good standard of IT literacy and willingness to use electronic/digital systems, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and compliance, including COSHH, Risk Assessments for Health and Safety at Work.
Able to solve problems and work independently, with a flexible approach to priorities and complete tasks and work items effectively.
