South Wootton Infant School is a Local Authority school, situated on the outskirts of King’s Lynn in generous, landscaped grounds. Rated GOOD by Ofsted, we are a two form entry infant school with approximately 180 children on roll. The majority of our children feed from our school into South Wootton Junior school, with whom we are federated.

South Wootton Infant School is a great place to work with a positive and inclusive ethos, fabulous children and a very supportive staff and governors.

Through our child-centred approach we aim to provide a rich and varied curriculum which meets the needs of every child. We have an excellent pastoral team who provide meaningful and effective support for children and their families.

We are looking for a proactive and reliable Caretaker to oversee the day-to-day management of our school premises. Hours of work, split shift, 7am to 10am then 3pm to 6pm with 5 weeks holiday outside of term time.

This varied role includes liaising with contractors and the property services team, maintaining the grounds, managing cleaning staff, undertaking cleaning duties, and ensuring the security of the site. You will play a key part in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-presented environment for our pupils, staff, and visitors.

If you are:

  • Hardworking and take pride in your work
  • Responsible, flexible, reliable and honest
  • Approachable and friendly
  • A “team player” but also able to work on your own initiative
  • Able to maintain confidentiality
  • Confident with ICT (basic word processing and e-mail)

Then we would love to hear from you!

Visits to the school are encouraged and warmly welcomed. Please call the school office on 01553 671552 or email - office@southwootton-inf.norfolk.sch.uk to arrange an informal chat and tour.
