Full time: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks - Core hours are 8am until 4pm Monday to Thursday, and 8am until 3.30pm on Friday but flexibility is required.

What skills and experience we're looking for

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent; good numeracy and literacy essential.
  • Relevant facilities, health & safety or operations management qualification desirable (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, Facilities Management)
  • Proven experience in facilities, estates or operational management, ideally in an educational or similar environment.
  • Experience of managing staff, contractors and day-to-day operational teams.
  • Experience in health & safety compliance, risk management, and statutory inspections.
  • Experience managing budgets, procurement processes, or contracts.
  • Sound understanding of health & safety legislation, statutory compliance and risk management in the workplace.
  • Knowledge of building maintenance, estates management and premises operations.
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise work to meet deadlines effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to build effective working relationships with staff, contractors and external partners.
  • IT literacy, including use of Microsoft.
  • Office and online record-keeping systems.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively to operational challenges.
  • Reliable, flexible and able to respond to changing demands.
  • Proactive and solutions-focused, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Commitment to promoting safeguarding, health & safety and a positive working environment.
  • Professional, approachable, and able to act with integrity at all times

As our Site Operations Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the school provides a safe, secure, welcoming and well-maintained environment for students, staff and visitors. You will lead the day-to-day management of the school site, overseeing premises maintenance, health and safety compliance, security, cleaning and contractor management. Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will ensure the school's facilities operate efficiently and support the delivery of outstanding education.   • Manage planned and reactive maintenance, site improvement projects and external contractors to maintain high standards across the school estate.
  • Line manage the premises and cleaning teams, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to support the effective operation of the school, delivering efficient, responsive and high-quality site services.
