Site Operative job summary

Permanent. Full year, including Training Days. 25 hours per week. Monday to Friday 6:00am-11:00am

A school site is at the heart of the school community. As our Site Operative, you will help create a safe, welcoming and well-maintained environment where children can learn, play and achieve their best.

This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You will use your practical skills to carry out a range of maintenance and repair tasks across the school, helping to keep buildings, facilities and grounds safe, compliant and well cared for. Good joinery, plumbing and decorating skills are essential requirements of this role and will be used regularly to maintain and improve the school environment. Your contribution will have a direct impact on the experience of pupils, staff and visitors every day.

We are looking for someone who enjoys finding practical solutions, takes pride in their work and can work independently whilst also knowing when to seek advice or support. You will be proactive in identifying issues, taking appropriate action within your level of training and competence and escalating matters that require specialist expertise.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is at the centre of everything we do. The successful candidate will understand the importance of maintaining a safe and secure environment, reporting any safeguarding, health and safety or security concerns promptly and following school policies and procedures at all times.

If you are practical, reliable and committed to making a positive difference within a school community, we would love to hear from you.
