Site Supervisor 4 job summary

We are seeking to appoint a dedicated Assistant Site Supervisor to join our site team. The Assistant Site Supervisor role is essential in ensuring that the school environment remains clean, safe, and well-maintained for pupils, staff, and visitors. This role also requires a reliable and safety-conscious individual to provide essential services for the school. The post holder will be required to work 16 hours per week Monday through to Fridays, term time only plus 10 days.


Key Responsibilities Site Supervisor:


  • Ensure that buildings and the site are secure, including during out of school hours and take remedial action if required;
  • Act as the designated key holder for the school premises;
  • Operate and regularly check systems such as heating, cooling, lighting and security (including CCTV and alarms);
  • Undertake minor repairs (i.e. not requiring qualified craftsperson) and maintenance of the buildings and site;
  • Arrange emergency repairs;
  • Arrange regular maintenance and safety checks;
  • Oversee onsite maintenance contractors, checking that work is completed to required standards and within required timescales;
  • Cleaning duties as required;
  • Monitor consumables and stock and order supplies;
  • Undertake general portage duties, including moving furniture and equipment within the school;
  • Perform duties in line with health and safety and COSHH regulations and take action where hazards are identified, report serious hazards to line manager immediately;
  • Undertake regular health and safety checks of buildings, grounds, fixtures and fittings, (including compliance with fire safety regulations) and equipment, in line with other schedules

  • This role requires a strong team player who can work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a high standard of site management.


    The successful candidate will work closely with the Site Supervisor, Blackpool Property Services and wider school team, ensuring efficient services and contributing to the smooth day-to-day operation of the school.

    Anchorsholme Primary School was first opened in 1967. In 2012 a major building program took place which improved the shared areas and school halls providing extensive performing arts, dance, and gymnastics facilities. 5 years later in 2017, extensive work began to expand the caretaker’s cottage on-site to incorporate two further classrooms and a full kitchen area.
