Sixth Form College Administrator job summary

Term Time plus 2 weeks in August

Core Purpose

Administer and co-ordinate student services, including acting as first point of contact for student advice and information.

Provide administrative support to the school by handling a range of administrative processes and tasks as required

Specific tasks

Ensure area is welcoming and tidy

Deal with telephone calls and other enquires, providing general information, take messages

To provide administrative support covering the College Leader’s areas of whole Academy responsibility

To provide administrative support for the Curriculum Leaders in the college

To provide administrative support for the Learning mentor within the college

To oversee student records, progress reports, annual reports, individual appointments etc for students within the sixth form college.

To maintain student files for students within the college

To oversee and monitor the registration process for students within the college including leaves of absence

To deal with enquiries relating to pastoral matters within the college

To deal administer basic first aid to students

To produce merit certificates and letters relating to student achievements for the college

To have some strategic responsibilities to be determined.

Generic Responsibilities

To support, deputise and cover for other administrative staff throughout the Academy as necessary

To answer the telephone when reception is unable to answer incoming calls

To undertake any other administrative work as reasonably requested by the Principal
