The Role:

We are seeking a committed Sixth Form Pastoral & Academic Manager to support our students through the critical journey of Key Stage 5. You will play a central role in helping students flourish academically, personally, and socially, ensuring they become resilient and successful young adults. The successful candidate will work closely with students to remove barriers to learning, providing targeted guidance on independent study, wellbeing, and pastoral development

Key Responsibilities:

  • Academic Mentoring:Provide day-to-day guidance on time management, study habits, and revision techniques to support student progress.
  • Pastoral Support:Build professional relationships to support students experiencing difficulties that may impact their learning or wellbeing.
  • Attendance and Conduct:Proactively monitor attendance and punctuality, working with families to improve student engagement.
  • Intervention:Act as a key adult for identified students, maintaining accurate records of mentoring conversations and outcomes.
  • Safeguarding:Promote the welfare of all students at all times, remaining vigilant to signs that a student may be at risk.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • A good standard of education, including GCSE English and Mathematics at grade C/4 or above.
  • Experience working with young people in an educational, pastoral, or support role.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities and professional boundaries.
  • The ability to work calmly and effectively with students facing challenges.
  • An understanding and appreciation of the school’s Christian ethos.
