Are you passionate about supporting young people to thrive both academically and personally? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Sixth Form Pastoral Assistant to join our successful Sixth Form team and play a key role in promoting student wellbeing, attendance, progress and achievement.

Working closely with the Head of Sixth Form and Deputy Head of Sixth Form, you will provide high-quality pastoral support to students, helping them overcome barriers to learning and ensuring they feel safe, valued and supported throughout their sixth form journey. The role involves monitoring attendance, punctuality, behaviour and welfare, responding to day-to-day student issues, and working collaboratively with parents, staff and external agencies to secure the best outcomes for students.

The successful candidate will be a proactive safeguarding advocate with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. You will support students with UCAS applications, oversee the supervised study environment, use student data to identify and implement interventions, and contribute to maintaining a positive, inclusive and aspirational sixth form culture.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about student welfare, able to build positive relationships with young people and families, and committed to helping students achieve their full potential in a supportive and nurturing environment.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience of working with young people in an educational, pastoral or support setting.

• Demonstrates a strong understanding of safeguarding and student welfare.

• Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

• Can effectively manage sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.

• Is organised, proactive and able to work flexibly in a fast-paced environment.

• Is committed to supporting students' personal development, wellbeing and academic success.

We have a strong commitment to staff wellbeing and recognition through our wellbeing committee and people strategy and offer a range of benefits including the Local Government Pension Scheme, Westfield Health Care Plan, cycle-to-work scheme, discounted gym membership, and an employee discount scheme.

If you have the enthusiasm, professionalism and commitment to make a positive contribution to our school community, we would love to hear from you.

If you would like to arrange a visit to the school, please contact Stacy Hands at Stacy Hands.
