Sixth Form Study Support Leader job summary

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, innovative and resourceful individual to support the work of the Academy’s Sixth Form Students as a Sixth Form Study Support Leader. The role will support the learning of our Sixth Form students, ensuring that students further develop the effective learning skills that they need in order to experience success. It arises as part of the pandemic recovery programme and is therefore fixed term for one-year in the first instance, but has the potential to be extended if funding and impact are evident. Key elements of the role will include supervising and facilitating a personalised learning hour once a week for each student in Year 12 and working closely with students, tutors and subject teachers, to identify key priorities and any specific and / or perceived barriers to learning. The role will also take a lead in delivering on a Thrive programme for supporting mental health. The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, being able to deal with sensitive and confidential issues, as well as the ability to liaise with outside agencies. Applicants should also hold a level 2 or 3 qualification or have equivalent experience for working with young people aged between 11-19. Good administrative skills are essential. Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.
