Sound and Lighting Technician job summary
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, competent and skilled Technician to take responsibility for all the technical aspects of school productions and events, specifically sound and lighting.
The post-holder will be responsible for rigging, plotting and programming lighting and sound, in both our Main Hall space and our Drama Studio. They will have the opportunity to support extra-curricular activities, such as the running of the “Tech Club”, which involves giving instruction to the students in the safe use of technical equipment.
The ideal candidate should have a knowledge of video production and editing, to produce high quality videos to be used for school events including prospective parents’ evenings and the school’s annual Awards Evening as well as other digital content.
Knowledge of set design and prop making, whilst not a requirement, would be seen as an advantage.
The successful applicant will also need to offer assistance in front line support of the school’s computer network.
Extra-curricular activities offered at the school are outstanding and the quality and diversity of Art, Music, Media and Drama is first rate. Flexibility in working hours is essential during productions.
We were graded Outstanding in every category by Ofsted in March 2017.
We are due to re-locate to a brand new ‘state of the art’ school on a new site less than half a mile from our current location, in January 2023. This exciting project will provide us with a fantastic new learning environment, supported by cutting edge technology, and huge opportunities for the future.
If you have the technical knowledge and ability, an application form and further details are immediately available from the Headteacher’s PA, Mrs D Landers, at the school or downloadable from the website www.tbshs.org. The completed application form and a covering letter should be sent to Mrs Landers, Debbie.landers@tbshs.org
