Sound & Lighting Technician job summary
Responsibilities:
Sound Engineering:
Operate and maintain sound equipment, including mixers, amplifiers, and microphones.
Set up and adjust sound systems for live events, recordings, and presentations.
Mix audio signals to achieve desired sound quality and levels.
Troubleshoot technical issues and provide timely solutions.
Lighting Design and Operation:
Design and implement lighting setups for various events, including concerts, corporate functions, and theatrical productions.
Operate lighting consoles and control lighting fixtures to create desired visual effects.
Collaborate with other technical staff to ensure seamless integration of lighting and sound systems.
Equipment Maintenance:
Regularly inspect and maintain sound and lighting equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Troubleshoot technical issues and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies.
Proven experience as a Sound and Lighting Engineer or similar role.
Strong technical knowledge of sound and lighting equipment.
Proficiency in operating audio mixing consoles and lighting control systems.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
Flexibility to work on various projects and irregular hours.

Katherine Warington School is a new comprehensive, co‐educational and non‐denominational academic secondary school (opened September 19) with 750 students currently (180 in each of years 7, 8, 9 and 10 – these year groups are already oversubscribed). The school will add a
further 180 students in each subsequent year and then open a 250 strong Sixth Form. By 2025 we will have grown to our capacity of 1,150 students. The school was established through the partnership of the Harpenden Secondary Schools Trust, which includes the three outstanding
schools in Harpenden: Roundwood Park, St George’s and Sir John Lawes and additional partners: the University of Hertfordshire and Rothamsted Research Centre (a world leading non‐profit agricultural science research centre).
