Northampton International Academy is looking for an outstanding MFL teacher to join our rapidly expanding talented team of linguists in our Languages department. We are wishing to appoint and enthusiastic and passionate practitioner of Spanish to join our thriving department.
Successful applicants will have the opportunity to develop whole school experience in a creative and innovative environment. Northampton International Academy is part of the East Midlands Academy Trust, it is an all through school, 4–19, and opened in September 2016. In July 2019, the academy achieved an Ofsted rating of Good.
It is a fantastic time to join NIA as it has its first Year 12 intake, as well as further groups in the primary phase and by 2021 the school will have over 2000 pupils. This will make NIA one of the largest free schools in the country.
The Modern Foreign Languages department is a strong and supportive team with both experienced and newly qualified staff. Joining us is a fantastic opportunity to take on new challenges and work with a friendly and dedicated department that aims to provide opportunities for our children to thrive in our global community through the teaching of Spanish.
The successful candidate would be expected to teach Spanish from KS3 to KS5. Additionally, as an all-through school, there are ample opportunities to take language learning cross-phase into KS2 if desired. They will join a successful department, with an expectation to strive at every opportunity and expect the highest quality of support, excellent opportunities for growth and personal professional development. The successful candidate will:
- be an excellent classroom teacher of MFL able to teach Spanish from KS3 to KS5 to students of all abilities
- have experience of teaching KS5 Spanish
- be passionate about learning languages and share this enthusiasm with our students
- demonstrate excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills

We are seeking to appoint staff with a variety of experience, from NQT through to upper scale positions. We believe strongly that our school benefits from the mix of people we recruit and our current staff team reflects that. Last year we took on 40 new teachers and 17 were NQT, our support programme for new staff is well established and successful and we retain staff by making sure they are extremely well supported by all levels of the school community,
centralised detentions and a feedback policy that has removed all maintenance marking.
