What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated SENCo to be part of our team.
You should be committed and willing to work in a caring and safe environment whilst reflecting the school’s priority of placing pupils at the heart of all it does.
As a SENCo, you will be responsible for the implementation of strategies and policies related to SEN and inclusion, as well as developing and adapting these strategies in response to the needs of the school and its students. You will work closely with all pupils with additional needs, ensuring they are receiving sufficient support, as well as liaising with external agencies, staff, parents, and carers to ensure that EHCPs are being adhered to. As SENCo, you willalso be responsible for providing CPD to train staff in supporting pupils with SEN, as well as assisting teachers with developing schemes of work to ensure they are effectively differentiated. In order for this role to be fulfilled effectively, the successful candidate will not be class based.
To be eligible for this SENCo role, you must have recent experience working as a SENCo, or a similar role supporting children with special educational needs. You must also have QTS, and have extensive experience working within a school setting. Ideally, you will hold a middle management qualification, although this is not essential. It is important that you have a deep knowledge of SEN and SEMH and how to support learners with additional needs, as well as strong behaviour management skills and experience working with outside agencies.You will beworkingalongside other professionals to provide the best possible outcomes for pupils and taking an active part in all aspects of school life.
