Due to the flexibility of staffing within the school, this post is open to applicants with teaching specialisms in any of the following age phases: Early Years, Key Stage One and Lower Key Stage Two.
What skills and experience we're looking for:
The role is targeted at a class teacher who will further strengthen our current teaching team. At The Marton Academy, we pride ourselves in promoting extremely high standards in all aspects of school life. In addition, you will be/become responsible for the management of additional support given to pupils with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities within the Academy. This will be an exciting, varied, and interesting role that will provide an excellent career opportunity for an exceptional individual. The successful applicant will report directly to the Principal. The successful candidate will have a thorough handover and ongoing support from the Lead SENCO from The Forge Trust.
The position available is for a Class Teacher who possess the relentless drive and ambition to improve outcomes for children. This position is open to applications from teachers with a minimum of three years’ experience. In addition, the candidate may have attained the National Award for SEN/be currently working towards NPQ for SENCO/be ready to access the NPQ for SENCO from September.
The successful candidates will need to be:

- Forward-thinking, positive, energetic, reflective and highly motivated
- Committed to raising standards and working effectively within a team
- Able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Committed to working in partnership with our families and the local community
- Able to work collaboratively with other trust leaders and SEND Coordinators to implement the SEND Policy and contribute to its strategic development;
- Able to oversee the day-to-day operation of the policy with the aim of raising pupil achievement for pupils with SEND;
- Committed to ensuring effective inclusive practice for pupils on the SEND register in order for them to be independent.
- To ensure own teaching is ‘inclusion focused’, in line with the revised Ofsted Framework .

Further information about the role:
The candidate will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK. There will be the requirement, as per legal requirements, that the candidate holds a full and relevant SEND qualification or is currently working towards NPQ for SENCO.

Applicants will undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers. The role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore requires an enhanced DBS certificate and a children’s barred list check.
