Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) job summary

We are seeking to appoint a qualified, experienced individual with excellent leadership and communication skills who will improve inclusion within our school. A background of working with SEN students is essential, as well as being a qualified SENCO.

Responsibilities will encompass all aspects of our SEND provision throughout Westfield School including managing the work of a dedicated and committed team that comprises of a deputy SENCO, Learning Support Coordinator, SEND administrator, HLTA and Teaching Assistants. You will be responsible for building and maintaining effective working relationships with our students and their families, as well as working closely with all support and teaching staff, and external agencies.

The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations; their teaching will be a combination of small groups of students with SEN and mainstream classes in their subject specialism. They will work closely with our deputy SENCO and the wider staff team to ensure we are meeting the needs of our SEN students across all aspects of school.
