SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS & DISABILITIES ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT job summary
We are looking to employ a skilled and enthusiastic SEND Administrative Assistant to provide vital support to our busy SEND Department at Chauncy School. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone who is highly organised, efficient, and committed to helping children and staff thrive in our inclusive educational environment.
The SEND Administrator will be responsible for providing day-to-day administrative support to the SEND team, managing correspondence, phone calls, and emails, and maintaining diaries and calendars for the SEND Assistant Headteacher, SENCo, and Deputy SENCo. The role also includes coordinating meetings, taking minutes, managing follow-up actions, and supporting the Year Six transition processes by liaising with parents, agencies and feeder schools. The successful candidate will maintain and update SEND databases, filing systems, and the school provision map, while also managing referrals for additional assessments and specialist support services. They will review CENSUS data with the SENCo, ensure accurate records, collate timesheets, record absences, and maintain departmental resources.
We are looking for someone with excellent organisational and communication skills, a proactive and flexible attitude, and a high level of attention to detail. Knowledge of SEND procedures and data confidentiality is desirable, along with strong ICT skills, particularly in communications software, word processing and spreadsheets (e.g. Word, Excel, and Gmail). The ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy school environment and contribute positively as part of a supportive team is essential.
This is a full time position with hours 8.30am - 4.00pm, Monday to Friday.
The pay scale for this position is H4 and we are looking the successful candidate to start as soon as possible.
