About the role:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Educational Needs Teacher or ECT to join our Outstanding team at Yewstock School. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to develop their career and make a positive impact on the lives of children with special educational needs. This is a full time and permanent contract.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching students with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, including severe, moderate or complex learning needs. They will need to have a sound understanding of pedagogy and knowledge of teaching literacy and numeracy skills, as well as being confident to support learners with a wide range of abilities. The ability to lead a core curriculum subject will be an advantage.

We are looking for staff who are passionate about teaching and learning, and who can inspire, engage and motivate pupils. If you are a creative and effective classroom practitioner with a sound understanding of pedagogy, we would love to hear from you.
Requirements:
- A qualification in teaching (QTS or QTLS with SET membership) with an ability to work with children and young people with learning difficulties and/or social communication difficulties.
- An interest in developing curriculum including leading a subject area.
- Able to teach students with a diagnosis of autism and other complex needs.
- Sound understanding of pedagogy and knowledge of teaching literacy and numeracy skills.
- Competent and effective classroom practitioner with the ability and confidence to lead a team of Teaching Assistants within the classroom.

About us:
Yewstock School is an Outstanding all age special school for pupils with a wide range of SEND. Our pupils follow curricular based on the engagement scale, a semi-formal programme, a formal programme and individual targets from their EHCPs. Pupils work up to entry level 3. There are 170 children between the ages of three to nineteen on roll.
