For children and young people facing barriers to learning through circumstance, learning difficulties and challenging needs, the level of care and education must go above and beyond, and that’s what The Rubicon Centre Team aim to provide.

We are looking to appoint an experienced, resilient, patient and motivated English Teacher to lead the delivery of English to GCSE and develop literacy across the school. Experience and understanding of SEMH, Thrive and Trauma informed practice would be a distinct advantage as would the ability to support the delivery of other curriculum areas.

You will:

• Have experience working with students with challenging behaviour or within a PRU environment

• Excellent interpersonal skills, be self-motivated, receptive to change and able to work under pressure.

• The ability to teach to KS3 and KS4 pupils up to GCSE standard

• Proven classroom ability and practice

• Experience of and a sound understanding of how assessment is used to support learning

• A good knowledge of strategies for supporting an ethos of positive behaviour management • Have SEN experience

We are offering the chance to shape the future of students who need help re-engaging with education. In this role you will work with small groups of vulnerable students, who have a variety of complex emotional and behaviour needs. You will tailor lessons to the individual needs of the students and remove barriers to learning, enhancing their experience in lessons and improving their life chances.
