Specialist Inclusion Base Teacher job summary
The working hours for this role are expected to be 0.8 FTE. The start date for this role is 01 January 2027.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a passionate and dedicated teacher to join the Specialist Inclusion Base at The John of Gaunt School, supporting pupils in Years 7 to 9 with SEND, particularly communication and interaction needs, including autism. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, personalised learning through a highly differentiated curriculum that promotes academic achievement, communication skills, independence, and preparation for adulthood. Working within a small, nurturing environment, you will teach and support pupils across a range of subjects while helping them access appropriate mainstream inclusion opportunities. You will use EHCP outcomes to inform planning, monitor progress, and work closely with families and external professionals to ensure every pupil receives the support they need to thrive. The role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by fostering confidence, emotional wellbeing, positive behaviour, and social development in young people with additional needs. Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SEND colleagues, and school leaders, you will contribute to the ongoing development of an inclusive and ambitious specialist provision. This role is ideal for a teacher who is committed to inclusive education, values strong relationships, and is passionate about helping every learner achieve success. As a member of staff within our Trust, you will contribute to a collaborative working environment and play a key role in supporting the learning and development of all pupils.
