We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate and resilient Specialist SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with complex needs within our vibrant and ambitious primary school. This role will involve working closely with the class teacher and SEND team to support a pupil with significant additional needs, enabling them to access learning, develop communication and independence skills, and feel safe and included within the school community.
Please note: This role is dependent upon the named pupil remaining on roll at the school, as it is funded through additional SEND funding linked to the pupil’s needs.
As a school, we provide a broad and balanced curriculum that goes beyond the requirements of the National Curriculum, with many opportunities to engage with learning in a multi-sensory way. Children are encouraged to participate in the wider life of the school and within the local community. We have a specialist centre attached to the school for children with learning and additional needs. Previous experience working in a specialist environment is an advantage but not a necessity.
About our school:
We are immensely proud of the caring nature of our school community where pupils feel happy and safe. Everyone works together to enable all pupils to feel that they belong and there is a positive culture for behaviour and learning. Staff are part of a dedicated, highly skilled and supportive team who are empowered by our dynamic SLT to lead and innovate. Loseley Fields is part of the collaborative Learning Partners Academy Trust, where networking and career opportunities are available. The Trust is built on partnership and thriving on local schools working together.
The successful candidate will:
• be able to assist in the education and social development of pupils under the direction of the teacher
• be well organised and efficient
• demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence and resilience
• be able to engage children in learning
• be flexible and pro-active
• be able to work as part of a team
• be positive and have a good sense of humour
In return we can offer you:
• a positive culture for behaviour and learning
• a hard-working, dedicated and supportive team
• opportunities for excellent continuous professional development across our 16-strong academy trust
Visits to our school are warmly welcomed and strongly encouraged. Please contact the school office to arrange a visit.
Please apply as soon as possible. Interviews may be held upon receipt of applications
