What skills and experience we're looking for

The successful candidate will have:

  • Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree level qualification
  • Registered member Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
  • Registered member of Health Professions Council
  • Well maintained portfolio highlighting CPD as in line with regulatory body standards
  • Experience of working with young people on the autism spectrum within a school setting
  • Experience of integrated working in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Training and presentation experience for staff teams and parents

The successful candidate will have:

  • Knowledge of professional standards and code of conduct and their application in practice
  • Working knowledge of standards of record keeping
  • Knowledge of and commitment to safeguarding
  • Knowledge of a range of assessment tools and appropriate interventions relevant to young people with ASC.
  • Knowledge of current evidence based practice and application to practice
  • Ability to supervise and delegate appropriate work to support staff and assess and follow up on impact
  • Good analytical and reflection skills, implementing findings into best practice
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, support and proactively challenge others
  • Ability to use a range of IT
  • Good organisational and planning skills
  • Skills in prioritising and being flexible and adaptable to meet competing priorities
  • Awareness of standards of record keeping and confidentiality

The successful candidate will have:

  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to use initiative and to think creatively and flexibly
  • Energy and enthusiasm
  • Negotiation and problem solving skills
