What skills and experience we're looking for
Are you a curious individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people with special educational needs?
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Specialist Teacher of SEND to join our team at Laidlaw Schools Trust to support the delivery and development of a comprehensive SEND service across the whole of the Laidlaw Schools Trust (currently 11 Academies).
Reporting to the Trust’s Educational Psychologist there will also be an opportunity to gain deeper knowledge and understanding of psychological principles and techniques to support the educational and developmental needs of children and young people and help promote the use of inclusive, evidence-based practices to help children, young people, parents and education professionals to overcome barriers to educational achievement, social and emotional well-being and mental health.
The successful individual will be a qualified teacher with experience working with students (any age between 4-16) with a wide range of special educational needs. They will have strong knowledge of current SEND legislation and best practices in inclusive education. If this individual has experience and / or a qualification in psychology that would be a bonus but is not essential.
