What skills and experience we're looking for

You’ll provide critical support to individuals and groups of students whilst they undertake a range of educational activities. You will be dealing with very specialised needs, using your skills and experience to assist pupils in their learning environment. You’ll work closely with the teachers to monitor the students progress and development.

You will have demonstrable experience in supporting pupils with ASD and learning difficulties. You’ll need to be confident, adaptable and personable so as to make a great role model and be able to think on your feet. A team player is key although you’ll need to be comfortable with working independently and able to cope under pressure.

What the school offers its staff

The Access Centre based at Lyde Green Primary School is a specialist facility dedicated to students who have a primary diagnosis of ASC along with complex learning needs. The Access Centre will provide bespoke and expert provision to enable them to make progress. Our dedicated team of staff model themselves as lifelong learners and put our children’s best interests at the heart of everything they do and they work hard to ensure children remain challenged, motivated and engaged with their learning throughout their time with us.

We value kindness, resilience and tolerance and expect our children and staff to demonstrate these values daily. We also believe in the importance of courage when trying new things, collaboration and teamwork to achieve things together and the importance of always being respectful to one another.
