We are seeking to recruit maternity cover for a passionate and motivated Speech and Language Therapist, starting September 2026 to cover up to one year but may finish earlier..

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to an expanding organisation which is committed to providing high‑quality, inclusive education for children and young people with a wide range of complex needs.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced therapist who is enthusiastic about collaborative, school‑based practice and is committed to working in a dynamic specialist setting. The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality assessment, intervention, and advice for learners with communication needs aged 3-19.

You will work directly within classrooms alongside teachers, support staff, families, and external professionals to promote meaningful communication development and ensure learners can fully engage in learning and school life.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Providing assessment and intervention for learners with a wide range of speech, language, and communication needs, including autism, learning disability, and complex needs.

    Working collaboratively with teaching staff to embed communication strategies into the curriculum.

  • Contributing to classroom practice, EHCP targets, annual reviews, reports, and multidisciplinary planning.

  • Providing training, guidance, and resources to school staff.

  • Supporting the development of total communication approaches across the school.

What We’re Looking For

  • A qualified Speech and Language Therapist with HCPC registration

  • Experience of working with children and young people with SEND.

  • A reflective, flexible practitioner who enjoys working as part of a team.

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

  • Commitment to learner‑centred, inclusive practice.
