SPI - Director of College job summary

Latest statistics indicate that only 4.8% of adults with a learning need are in meaningful employment, while close to 80% would like to be. This statistic is both alarming and saddening. We wholeheartedly believe that our students and young adults are more than capable of not only gaining and maintaining employment but also being an incredible asset to any employer. We recognise that to achieve this we need to not only upskill our students and young adults but also support employers to become disability confident so they are able to reap the rewards of an untapped workforce. Creating Tomorrow College has a clear 5 year development strategy for growth in both student cohort and resource. The college will be based in North Northamptonshire for the 2021/22 academic year. The post holder will demonstrate a passion narrowing the SEND gaps in adult life and have a demonstrable history of delivering outcomes in the SEND sector. The role will include the day to day operations of the college, ensuring performance and standards are continuously high, leading a team of dedicated staff, oversight of student safety and welfare. The incumbent will also demonstrate the ability to be effective in maximising opportunities for students to experience the world of work. The post holder will need to be an innovator, with the skills and experience to be aware of the national agenda within this sector in order to respond to the local and regional needs. You will need to have a proven track record of working in partnership with employers in related sectors to drive the development of extended work placements, supported internships and inclusive apprenticeships. Creating Tomorrow College is a part of Creating Tomorrow Multi-Academy Trust who are a growing Trust supporting schools and colleges believing that children can achieve irrespective of their learning needs. Employees of Creating Tomorrow Trust benefit from a supportive extended team, a comprehensive wellbeing policy and an extensive wellbeing package including access to counselling, health & fitness, finance, food & drink, entertainment, tech, shopping, travel and motoring perks through Perkbox. Further details and an application pack are available through the TES Web site or alternatively contact Ellie Edwards at Creating Tomorrow Academies Trust, 10 Brooklands Court, Kettering Venture Park, Kettering, NN15 6FD, 01536 500030 or email eedwards@creatingtomorrowtrust.co.uk
