What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking to appoint a full time Sports Development Officer to join our successful and thriving team, delivering a comprehensive and successful PE curriculum and holiday camp provision. This is a fantastic opportunity to have a real impact to develop a passion for sport and an active lifestyle.

The successful candidate will be an outstanding, experienced and innovative sports professional and be able to work with pupils across the primary phase. You will be enthusiastic, fair and kind and committed to providing a broad range of sporting opportunities for pupils throughout the extended school day.

You must:

  • Have experience in delivering lessons independently to children and assessing their progress;

  • Be able to lead the sports provision across the Trust

  • Be able to plan, deliver and develop extra curricular learning programmes;

  • Be suitably qualified (please refer to person specification)

Your main roles will be:

  • Assisting the Director of PE & Sport, and providing cover for the Director or other colleagues as needed.

  • Providing a range of quality assurance, training and mentoring activities for schools and clubs in order to promote a safe and high quality delivery of provision

  • Raising the profile of LEO Sports and the LEO Academy Trust, across all current/future Trust or partner schools/organisations and surrounding or target areas.

  • Planning and organising sports projects and campaigns with the aim of maximising pupil participation across the Trust and Local areas.

  • Being responsible for the growth, planning, organising and running of LEO Sports events.
