Redcastle Family School successfully opened its Special Resource Base (SRB) for children with autism in 2021, as part of our commitment to meeting the needs of children with SEND across Thetford and the surrounding area. 

Our specialist provision comprises three dedicated classroom spaces, a sensory room, and multiple breakout areas. As we continue to grow and develop this exciting provision, we are looking for outstanding professionals to join us on the next stage of our journey. 

We are seeking to appoint an experienced SEND practitioner who is passionate about making a difference to children's lives. This is an exciting opportunity to have a significant impact on outcomes for children while developing your own practice through nationally recognised professional development opportunities.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about teaching and learning and who:

  • Can effectively assess and interpret individual needs, using both formal assessments and an understanding of how children present in different contexts. 
  • Is able to plan and deliver appropriate, personalised learning experiences that meet a child's specific needs. 
  • Encourages children to develop across all areas of learning, including social and emotional development, while promoting the school's nurturing ethos. 
  • Values teamwork and works collaboratively to overcome challenges. 
  • Has the ability to reflect upon and continually develop their classroom practice. 
  • Has an excellent understanding of both the Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 curriculum.

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English is an essential requirement for this role.
