This position will involve teaching in King Edward VII Academy in King’s Lynn (King's Lynn, Norfolk, PE30 2QB), with other duties based in Norwich.
The role
The successful candidate will be integral to our trust-wide school improvement strategy. You will be a vital member of the Inspiration Trust’s Central team of English subject experts. As part of your role, you will contribute to curriculum and teacher development. A substantial part of this role will include modelling excellent teaching of English and supporting others in their own implementation of the curriculum. You will be a superb teacher of English in the secondary phase. You will understand that high impact teaching is informed by effective curriculum design and a knowledge-thorough pedagogy. We are seeking a leader who can not only deliver this in their own classroom, but who can lead on this across the Trust by coaching and supporting other teachers.
The role includes a teaching commitment, which will be based at King Edward VII Academy in King’s Lynn. There will be opportunities to play a part in our school-based Initial Teacher Training programme, train the classroom leaders of the future, and contribute to our longer-term curriculum development work, making this a very exciting role.
We are also advertising a Lead Practitioner (English) role. If you are interested in that opportunity please find the job advert at the Inspiration Trust website and submit an application.

King Edward VII Academy is a large, diverse, and comprehensive 11-18 school. The school is calm, orderly, and purposeful. The school’s culture is built around high expectations and consistent structures and routines; these enable teachers to focus on the subjects they love and are expert in.
King Edward VII Academy has a rich and prestigious history; thousands of students have walked the halls of the magnificent building all in pursuit of the same excellence that the academy strives for today.
In October 2024, King Edward VII Academy and Sixth Form received a Good rating from Ofsted for quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development to effectiveness of leadership and management, with the report recognising the rapid positive change that has taken place across the academy.
Ofsted (October, 2024) stated: ‘The school expects high standards of pupils’ work and behaviour. It reminds pupils that every minute counts in meeting these standards. Pupils are rising to this challenge. They know that they attend an inclusive school that has improved rapidly. In the past, academic outcomes have been low. Now, however, the sense of ambition is abundantly clear. Lessons are engaging and focused. Pupils learn well.’
The report mentioned that “the school’s curriculum is ambitious and ensures that pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) access the curriculum alongside their peers. The curriculum sets out what pupils will learn and the correct order in which it is taught. High-quality training and support from the trust have led to precise teaching. Teachers use their strong subject knowledge to present new concepts clearly. Staff are invested in the school and the community. They feel well supported by leaders who manage their workload with sensitivity. They want the very best for pupils and are proud to work at the school.”
