Strategic Post 16 Lead - Shine provision job summary

East Specialist Inclusive Learning Centre (East SILC) is a large and highly regarded 2-19 generic special school, supporting approximately 470 learners across multiple sites in Leeds. Alongside our core school provision, we deliver a range of city‑wide specialist services and partnerships, working closely with education, health and care colleagues to secure strong outcomes for children and young people with complex needs.

Purpose of the Role

This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping and developing Post‑16 provision for learners with severe and complex learning needs, ensuring strong Preparation for Adulthood pathways and positive destinations.

The successful candidate will:

        • Provide strategic middle‑leader oversight of Post‑16 provision at Shine
        • Lead and refine an ambitious, inclusive PfA curriculum
        • Strengthen cross‑site coherence and transition pathways
        • Build meaningful partnerships with employers and community providers
        • Contribute to East SILC’s self‑evaluation, quality assurance and improvement agenda

            The East Specialist Inclusive Learning Centre (SILC) is a 2-19 generic special school with 426 pupils on roll. All our pupils have special learning needs and some have physical/ medical difficulties. The East SILC is a complex organisation which operates on a variety of sites to provide a range of outreach services across the city, including partnerships with primary and secondary providers, the city-wide Physical Difficulties and Medical Service including a moving and handling service, as well as the Medical Needs Teaching Service for Leeds.
