Working pattern: Full time: Full time (35 hours per week, Monday to Friday) during term time only (39 weeks). [Salary calculated pro-rata to reflect the part time (term time) nature of the role].
Contract type: Permanent
Full-time equivalent salary: Between £27,254 and £29,540 per annum (pro-rata salary at point SCP 9 £23,310)
Pay scale: Pass 5, SCP 9 - 14

What skills and experience we're looking for

The Governors of this successful 11–18 Girls’ Catholic Specialist Arts College are seeking to appoint an outstanding and committed Student and Family Engagement Officer (SFEO) to work with students, parents, carers, staff and external agencies to improve student engagement and attendance,securing excellent outcomes for all students.

The SFEO will play a vital role in supporting students to thrive by driving improvements in attendance, engagement and wellbeing, working in partnership with families, staff and external agencies to remove barriers to learning and promote success for all.

Key responsibilities and tasks:

Champion a positive, whole-school culture of high attendance and strong student engagement
Build trusted, supportive relationships with students and families, offering guidance to help establish successful routines
Use data insightfully to identify concerns and deliver targeted, impactful support
Engage proactively with families through a range of communication methods, including meetings and home visits
Work closely with pastoral teams and external partners to support vulnerable students and improve outcomes
Help students overcome barriers to attendance and support smooth reintegration into school life
Contribute to a strong safeguarding and pastoral culture that prioritises student wellbeing and success
