Student and Family Lead for Inclusive Education and Wellbeing job summary
We are seeking a passionate advocate for inclusion within our all-through school. The successful applicant will have a mindset of aspiration for all, and practical skills to support students and their families to plan growth targets that are realistic and ambitious. Previous experience working with people is desirable, but an educational background is not essential. The role will require a high level of administration - including data management for attendance - and excellent people skills for communication in sometimes difficult circumstances. An understanding of the importance of our Simon Balle values and community-belonging is essential.
Purpose of role:
To work collaboratively within the inclusion team to:
Be a champion to support students who are ‘disadvantaged’ whose attendance is below 97%
Work with families to maximise students’ engagement in school life, achievement and attendance
Support administration of our statutory duties with regard to EHCPs, and liaison with external professional agencies, including management of dates for student profiles
Support all students who have SEND, and their inclusion within the classroom and wider school life at Simon Balle

The Student and Family Advocate for Inclusive Education and Wellbeing at Simon Balle All-through school plays a pivotal role in promoting inclusive education, student well-being, and family engagement. This role is dedicated to fostering an environment where all students, regardless of their background or abilities, can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. The advocate will work closely with students, families, and school staff to ensure that every individual is supported, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential.
The working hours for this role are 8.30am until 3.30pm, 3 days per week, term time plus INSET days.
