What skills and experience we're looking for
The Student Mental Health and Wellbeing Lead is an integral role within our well established and successful Learning Support team. As one of our student focused team of SEND Leads, you will be part of a professional, supportive and encouraging team of professionals. You will be joining a forward-thinking and highly motivated SEN department committed to ensuring that our students achieve the best outcomes whilst with us. The Student Mental Health and Wellbeing Lead will play a significant role in making sure that our students’ social, emotional and mental health needs are met alongside focusing on their wellbeing, by providing 121 and group support. You will help our young people to develop a sense of belonging to our West Exe community. In return you will receive mentoring, training and guidance to support and develop you further into the role.
This role would not only suit those looking to primarily work in a support setting, but also those who may be interested in teaching or counselling as a future career.
A good level of education is essential for this role, with the postholder having achieved at least grade 4 in GCSE English and Maths or equivalent qualifications. You should be capable of developing excellent relationships with students and therefore a proven record of successfully working with young people is essential.
