Student Mentor job summary
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Student Mentor to become part of our team at The Beacon School.
If you’re passionate about supporting young people and eager to work within a dedicated, collaborative team in a warm and encouraging school community, we’d be delighted to hear from you.
Your Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dedicated and nurturing team in supporting progress, while collaborating with our teachers to develop student learning and improve life chances.
The successful candidate will work in partnership with students and parents/carers to promote positive behaviour across the school community, supporting students in overcoming barriers to learning, including challenging behaviour. They will provide tailored support to students who need it, offering guidance and coaching through focused interventions and regular observations to help them develop and sustain positive behaviour for learning.

- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Have a proven track record in supporting students with physical and emotional well-being.
- Have demonstrable experience in supporting students to promote positive behaviour for learning.
- Be enthusiastic and committed to working as part of a team.
- Be passionate about the students’ learning and welfare.
- Be keen to be part of the wider school community, participating in extracurricular clubs.

The Details
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: Associate Point 2 - FTE £23,707
Actual Salary: £19,828.47
Hours: 35hrs a week - Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4pm (39 weeks per year)
Contract: Permanent
Closing Date: Friday 20th February at 9.30am
Interview Date: 25th or 26th February 2026
