We are looking for a Student Support Assistant to join Highfield Littleport Academy, a specialist 2-19 school in Cambridgeshire, supporting pupils with complex needs to feel safe, confident and ready to take part in school life. Working closely with teachers and specialist colleagues, the role centres on providing thoughtful personal care, medical support and practical assistance in line with pupils’ EHCPs and care plans. It calls for warmth, resilience and a strong commitment to inclusion and safeguarding. As part of Active Learning Trust, this is meaningful, hands‑on work within a collaborative community where people are valued and the difference made for children and young people is clear every day.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and medical support in line with EHCPs and Personal Care Plans, including toileting, feeding and mobility assistance
  • Support pupils’ safety, wellbeing and inclusion throughout the school day, including lunchtimes and outdoor supervision
  • Assist with specialist care programmes, such as physiotherapy or hydrotherapy, under professional guidance
  • Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding, health and safety, and confidentiality procedures
  • Work closely with teachers and colleagues to ensure consistent, high‑quality care and support for pupils
