Student Support Officer - Key Stage 4

Maternity Cover - hand-over from mid-March

26 hours per week over four days; term-time only (38 weeks) plus two training days

But there is room for discussion/negotiation on the hours, and job-share applications seeking to split the days are very welcome

Pay Scale: H5 (Pts 9-14)

Actual salary based on 26 hours per week: £16,591 - £17,946

We pride ourselves on the depth and quality of the pastoral care and support that we provide for all of our students. Our Student Support Officer for Key Stage 4 provides empathetic guidance and mentoring for students (and families), focused on positive outcomes and building self-reliance, in support of our Heads of Years 10 & 11. Excellent listening skills, but firmness towards positive outcomes, are key requirements. Our Student Support Officers also have office administration responsibilities.

Our OFSTED grading has been confirmed as Outstanding (November 2023) and the inspection team have written that:

‘Staff say that they are very well supported. Staff feel valued. They have high praise for how leaders look after the staff’s well-being and their workload.’
