The Role
We are seeking a committed and empathetic Student Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping our students overcome barriers to learning, regulate their emotions, and engage positively with school life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEMH needs.
- Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage resilience, confidence, and self-esteem.
- Support students in managing behaviour, emotional regulation, and social skills.
- Work alongside teaching staff to adapt and deliver learning support.
- Encourage participation in lessons and wider school activities.
- Contribute to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive school environment.
What We’re Looking For:
- A patient, compassionate, and resilient individual with a genuine passion for supporting young people.
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (desirable, not essential - training will be provided).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and use initiative in challenging situations.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
