Your role:
As a Subject Leader for History, you will bring your passion for history to life, teaching across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. You will lead a team of dedicated history teachers, driving forward a popular subject and focusing on improving achievement across all key stages. Your strategic thinking and collaborative skills will be essential as you work closely with our Junior College to ensure a seamless educational experience for all students. About us:
You will be part of our Humanities Department, leading a team of 7 specialist history teachers. History is one of our most popular subjects at GCSE, where we offer Edexcel History and OCR Ancient History. At A-level, we offer OCR History, providing a robust curriculum that supports continuous development. Our department is known for its collaborative and supportive environment, where teachers are encouraged to innovate and share best practices. We value courtesy, compassion, and courage in our staff, creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere for both students and teachers.
The Academy’s recent Ofsted inspection in November 2024 rated all areas as ‘Good’ and noted that “pupils benefit from a welcoming environment where diversity is celebrated. They enjoy celebrating each other’s differences and participating in cultural activities. The school provides an ambitious curriculum that ensures pupils develop a strong foundation of knowledge and skills from Year 3 through to Year 13, preparing them well for their next stage of education or employment.”
